Dakar Quartzite is quarried from bedrock in Brazil. It has a light silver background tone with soft grey veins sweeping across the slab. There may also be light areas of cream or beige running along the grey veins. The veining in this quartzite causes the slab to resemble the look of marble rather than a quartzite. Because quartzite is harder than granite, Dakar is perfect for kitchen countertops. During the polishing process, an epoxy resin is applied to the surface of the stone to fill in any natural pits, cracks, or fissures that may exist.
